Basic Life Support & Defibrillation for Non-Healthcare Operators (Lay Responders)

The course is delivered according to the Italian Resuscitation Council (I.R.C.) guidelines with instructors certified by the I.R.C. itself.

Course Objectives

The course objective is to teach participants the basic resuscitation sequence for adults in respiratory and/or cardiac arrest and the manoeuvres to perform in case of foreign body airway obstruction.

The course also provides knowledge and skills related to the use of semi-automatic defibrillators.

Target Audience

The BLS-D theoretical and practical training course is aimed at all those who may find themselves, for personal or professional reasons, needing to rescue a person suffering from cardio-respiratory arrest. It is particularly suitable for those who work daily in high population density environments (schools, companies, sports facilities, workshops, catering, shopping centres, etc.) and for those interested in learning and deepening their knowledge of basic resuscitation manoeuvres.

Instructors

The instructors employed are physicians or non-healthcare personnel appropriately trained and certified by IRC as basic instructors for lay population.

Training Materials

Each participant will receive the IRC manual in printed format, useful for completing the training achieved. The manual contains the certificate unlock code to be entered in the database – Personal Area – Courses. The code is unique and can only be used once.

Final Assessment and Certifications

Following a positive outcome of the final assessment, each participant will be issued a certificate of attendance.
