Articles 36, 37 and 77 of D.Lgs. 81/2008.

As indicated in the regulatory references cited above, the employer ensures that each worker receives sufficient and adequate training in health and safety matters, with particular reference to concepts of risk, prevention and protection.

Furthermore, the employer ensures the essential training for each DPI that, pursuant to D.Lgs. 475/92, belongs to the 3rd Category.

Course objectives

The objective of the course is to explore the topic of safety in work performed at height, both from a regulatory/legislative perspective and from a practical standpoint, illustrating technical measures such as procedures and personal protective equipment against falls from height.

Target audience

The course is aimed at all workers who, in carrying out their duties, may be exposed to the risk of falling from height during work at height, in cases where collective protection measures have not been implemented.

Course duration

The course has a duration of 8 hours.

Programme

Theoretical module

  • Overview of general workplace safety legislation: Legislative Decree 9 April 2008, No. 81;
  • Reference to Fall Protection Personal Protective Equipment: D. Lgs. 81/2008 Title III, Chapter II;
  • Work at height: D. Lgs. 81/2008 art. 107;
  • Falls from height: risk, prevention and protection;
  • Types of 3rd category fall protection DPI;
  • Identification of the most correct and adequate fall protection systems for the type of work to be performed: obligations, categories and requirements;
  • Safe anchor points and anchoring systems;
  • Protection systems: positioning, restraint and fall arrest;
  • Fall factor and clearance distance in fall protection systems;
  • Marking, use, pre-use inspection, maintenance and overview of periodic DPI inspection. Importance of consulting the user manual;
  • Rescue of workers at height;
  • Suspension trauma and orthostatic hypotension.

Practical module

  • Preliminary aspects of DPI inspection;
  • Training in the use of fall protection DPI: correct donning of fall protection DPI, anchor point selection and anchoring systems, correct connection of fall protection DPI, climbing and descending tests on a rigid vertical lifeline installed on a ladder;
  • Practical exercises.

Instructors

All our instructors are experts in occupational health and safety with many years of experience, holding the qualifications required by the State-Regions Agreement of 21 December 2011, official record No. 221/CSR and the criteria established by the Interministerial Decree of 6 March 2013.

Training materials

Each participant will receive course materials on CD, containing useful documents for use and reading to complete the training received.

Final assessment and certifications

Following successful completion of the final assessment, each participant will be issued a certificate of attendance.
